Wasting Time

What beautiful weather we have had! I love that I don't have to put a coat on to go out or make sure I have a rain cover under the pram. Having a little bit of sunshine certainly makes me more cheerful and chilled out. Today we have had out swimming costumes on and the paddling pool out for a splash, great for cooling down.

Warmer weather is great through out the day but when it comes to the evening, it gets a bit muggy and very uncomfortable. When there isn't a breeze it is so difficult to sleep, which makes trying to stay awake in the day and being energetic for Aella difficult.

This was the first time since having Aella I sat out in the sun (during Aella's nap time) just to chill out and it was lovely but now there is a toddler in my life, I don't know if I find it as enjoyable. Firstly I found it a complete waste of time but maybe that's because i'm so used to not having enough time on my hands and rushing around, I couldn't help but feel a little restless. Secondly, it made me think about the sun and the heat a little differently. All I think now is about Aella and how warm she might be, is she thirsty, has she got enough sun cream on (after a little time without it of course! Keeping that vitamin D topped up), is she comfortable in the heat and whether her clothes are making her to hot. I learnt today that Aella likes to sit in the sun, splashing in the pool but if we have to go out then she's not happy and will throw a paddy the whole time we are out.

Having a day as hot as it was and having to watch Aella's every move now she's walking (when all we really want to do is slob out and do nothing!), I've decided sunbathing is for holidays. Of course I will spend time outside, enjoying splashing in the swimming pool. I just won't be laying down in it doing nothing (well attempting to), there is so much more I could be getting up to!
